From the Executive Director: PAN’s Foray into Farming
Last year Pastor Julio of the rural area of Hojachigue came to me with a proposal.  He was thrilled with the fact that we had started a sewing co-operative that was benefitting the women of his church.  He had found someone who was teaching the teenagers how to make very pretty jewellery out of coco- nut shells. But the one demographic group that was the most difficult was the men. read more

Solar water project
Please help! We need to raise $35,000 for a solar powered pumping system to bring clean water to a centralized distribution hub.
You might be wondering the price has gone up! We have decided to drill a new well close to the distribution hub. This well will be approximately 300 feet deep.
This hub will supply the fresh water needs of five communities. It is an ambitious project but with your help we can do it! For more information www.waterballoonfight.ca or Kfurlonger@gmail.com

Pennies from heaven

Hi everyone,
Now that the Canadian Government is planning on stopping production of our pennies, PAN would like to try and get a jump on other groups who might want them!  Would you consider putting a large jar out in your church and start collecting Pennies for PAN during the penny withdrawal period?  Piles of pennies will mount up and could help us immensely.  Truly “Pennies from Heaven”!  If you want to go one step further, you might even consider our name, “PAN” and go for Pennies And Nickels (just a thought).  Whatever you can do will be much appreciated. If you are connected with any other Service Group, would you consider asking them to save their pennies for PAN as well?  Your workplace might be another consideration. Please be sure to share that PAN ministers to the poor of Nicaragua.
T
hank you so much,
Blessings and Shalom,
